i noticed them

i love this. one of the best VG compositions in human history, and you brought it out of its midi days into modern glory.

perchance, might you remix the crataria theme/samus's theme? because that is the only song for this game i liked more.

Beartheshadows responds:

I will give it a shot.

i am relaxed, happy and terrified at the same time

what makes this song work i will never know. this is incredible.

if anybody ever told me that you could succesfully combine glitch, ambient, creep, and electronic i would have called an insane asylum.

but... jsut, wow. fav, and i only fav about one thing a month.

Kingbastard responds:

Thanks for the review.
Just the sort of response I wanted to elicit with this song:)

DAYMN.

that was... awesome.

i may be a real sucker for that ravey syth you used, but i still think this has universal appeal.

i am doing the music for a halloween party, and i will definitley include this on the playlist! :D

djInTheDark responds:

Wow, thanx a lot!!! I try to get every chance I get to debute my stuff (aside from my own shows).

Hope they like it, glad you did!!

"I couldn't resist the arp" lol nobody can

"I couldn't resist the arp" is everybody's excuse. lol this was certianly the most unique mix... the only one i've heard yet that uses bells for that line.

alextheDJ responds:

lol thanks! yah I thought I'd try something different from all of the other remixes.

you sorta didn't cred it the person who did this

i have remixed this exact midi myself, actually. you should really credit the origional creator and... the site you got it from. i obviously can't name it.

but i find it very unlikly you are the origional write or this song. if you actually are, sorry.

it's a good mix though.

Mr-Dark responds:

Yes, I did make the techno remix MIDI out of this sequence. Click the info of it and send the author a mail, I'll mail you back. It's on VGMusic.com, Nintendo/NES section.

seriously nice

pretty sweet. it sort of loses energy at around 2:09 and it takes alittle too long for my tastes to regain it.
it has a lot of energy, i like it. :)

for literal, direct, helpful advice,, i think that adding a 1% pitch randomizer to that generic snare, and all the samplers really, would do wonders (piano roll>tools>randomizer) uncheck pattern and check levels, then drag "pitch" the tiniest fraction up. it adds a lubtle variation that makes the whole thing sound more real.

(btw, if you alreay know how to use the randomizer sorry for being patronizing but better that than leaving someone saying "how the hell do i do that?" lol)

VelociD responds:

Thank you for your lenghty review, darthmarus!
I will give it a try.

nice

the whole song is just... great.

well, a bit too much swearing for my taste. but still good.

giftedbuttwisted responds:

Thanks! And yeah after listening to it I realized I said 'shit' way too many times lol

lol...

you guys should just do nothing but mario stuff cuz every time you do something involving mario it turns out fantastic. btw the singing in this song is much better than your others......

giftedbuttwisted responds:

Haha nahh, people like our other songs too XP

i can't even say i can listen to more than 5 secs.

i love the opening, before the vocals. but one the vocals come in, i feel like you are insulting the beatles. i'm not trying to be mean here, but the ska/punk singing style does not work with this song. it jsut sounds like you are mocking them.

i can tell from reading the description that
1- you actually love the beatles and
2- i am kind of being an insensitive jerk
but this song is very special to me too and i feel like you ruined it....

giftedbuttwisted responds:

Thanks for you honest criticism, I do appreciate it

can't exactly dissagree...

...with the songs own description. and using the midi instrument "telephone" is just adding insult to injury.

Sawdust responds:

I don't know what you're talking about, but yes, this song was intended to be bad.

The telephone you were hearing was most likely an arp I did, and whoa it does sound like a telephone.
